Towards a Contemporary Theology of Religions


The Elijah Interfaith Institute has embarked on a major project of critical self-examination within the religious thinking ofJudaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism as the basis for dialogue between these faiths as the project progresses. The five processes of introspection and reflection were initiated by a conference at the University of Scranton, June 2005, entitled, "Towards a Contemporary Jewish Theology of World Religions."

Religions and Repentance: Growth within religion traditions, facing a new era

 The March 2000 conference, in conjunction with Pope John Paul II's Jubillee pilgrimage, explored ways in which repentance is relevant not only for individuals within the religious traditions, but for the religions themselves. Conference presenters explore how religions can grow within themselves, in a movement of purification toward their highest goals.
